About Gibbs and Associates
Powerfully Simple. Simply Powerful
Not only is this the tagline for GibbsCAM, this is also our guiding philosophy here at Gibbs and Associates. Our goal is to introduce manufacturers to new technologies and ways of working that make their job easier, and their businesses more productive. On top of this, we strive to create tools that are naturally intuitive, graphically interactive, extremely visual, and just plain enjoyable to use!
A Powerful CAD/CAM System is Born
Since our founding in 1982, we have been a leader in providing cutting-edge CAD/CAM technology while maintaining its signature ease-of-use and productivity increasing qualities. William F. Gibbs started the company in an effort to bring NC programming services to the greater Los Angeles area at a time when many households had not even seen a desktop computer. Just two years later, we introduced our Gibbs System (inspired by the Macintosh graphical interface) leading the way in the development of CAD/CAM software.

GibbsCAM Takes the Stage
Gibbs and Associates has grown since then, but we have continued our tradition of user-friendliness, compatibility, and machine shop efficiency with our current family of products, GibbsCAM. GibbsCAM supports 2- through 5-axis milling, turning, mill/turning, multi-task simultaneous machining, and Wire-EDM. In addition, the GibbsCAM integrated offline CAM system and the Gibbs SFP embedded shop floor programming CAM system are fully compatible. High-level process models, instead of G-code, can be bi-directionally exchanged between the shop floor and manufacturing engineering. This allows the capture of shop-proven processes for standardization and re-use. And as if this weren't enough, GibbsCAM also offers fully integrated manufacturing modeling capabilities that include entry-level 2D, 2.5D, 3D wireframe, surface modeling, solid-modeling creation, and the ability to access many CAD data formats.
Where Can You Find Us?
Today, our company facility can be found in Moorpark, California, a city in the 101 Tech Corridor region. With the help of national and international Resellers, the GibbsCAM products have found their home in machine shops across the world and in industries that range from building Mars rovers to planes, trains, automobiles, tanks, and earthmovers, to sail boat part manufacturing and even to toys! GibbsCAM has also entered into partnerships with CAD software manufacturers such as Autodesk, Kubotek, SolidWorks and UGS - producers of Solid Edge. Gibbs SFP software is now being recommended, resold or endorsed by a variety of CNC controller and machine tool manufacturers including MAG Fadal, Mitsubishi Electric Automation, GE Fanuc Automation Corporation, Infimatic, Siemens Energy and Automation, Inc, Servo Products Company and Daewoo Heavy Industries of America.
What Makes Us Different?
While GibbsCAM has grown to provide solutions to Fortune 500 companies such as Boeing, Ford, General Dynamics, General Motors, Lockheed Martin and Raytheon and now reaches global markets, it is still used by local machine shops and remains an exceptional alternative to manual programming for all sized shops worldwide. We offer specialized training sessions and customer phone support at hours that accommodate numerous time zones too, so no customer is ever left stranded. Put simply, we make quality, convenience, ease-of-use, and power a priority in everything we do, for all customers, big or small.
