Autodesk Certifies GibbsCAM for Autodesk Inventor 2014

GibbsCAM to be Featured at Haas Open House, HaasTec 2013

Gibbs and Associates, developer of GibbsCAM software for programming CNC machine tools and a Cimatron company, today announced its participation at HaasTec 2013, the Haas Open House, in support of machine-tool builder Haas Automation. GibbsCAM supports the entire line of Haas vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers, lathes, multi-task machines, 5-axis rotary tables and indexers, and the new UMC 750 5-axis vertical machining center to be featured at the event. Easy-to-use CNC programming features include programming for 5-axis simultaneous machining, tombstone management, multi-task machining (MTM), toolpath verification, machine simulation and post processors. Haas will hold the HaasTec 2013 Open House at its manufacturing and headquarters facility at 2800 Sturgis Road, in Oxnard, California. The event will run daily, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., from April 9-12, 2013.

Gibbs has also been selected to give a presentation called “Machining SolidWorks Features.” The presentation, to be delivered by Steve Aughinbaugh, GibbsCAM applications engineer, from 6:45PM-7:00PM, Monday, January 21, 2013, will highlight GibbsCAM’s new capabilities that provide optimal integration between SolidWorks and GibbsCAM. The presentation focuses on the simplification of machining solids created in SolidWorks. Mr. Aughinbaugh will demonstrate how GibbsCAM uses Knowledge Based Machining to automatically read SolidWorks part features and machine them with a single mouse click. In addition to the presentation, GibbsCAM demonstrations will be available in Booth 606 of the Partner Pavilion. The plug-in provides GibbsCAM users direct access to the NCSIMUL application, which assists programmers with NC program analysis and verification, and provides machine-tool simulation with error and gouge detection. After NC programs are corrected of errors and gouging, and fully verified, NCSIMUL provides options to optimize program parameters to improve toolpath cycle time and cutting tool efficiency. This will enable the full use of the features of their machines and controls without the need for custom post-processors or machine simulation models. The technology is based upon DMG/Mori Seiki’s implementation of the standard APT (automatically programmed tool) language, with DMG/Mori Seiki extensions that are supported within GibbsCAM. DMG/Mori Seiki’s initial focus during phase one is on its 3- to 5-axis machining centers and controls, with an ultimate goal of enabling the technology for all of its machines, including the most challenging multi-task machines. As new machines and machine functions are introduced, DMG/Mori Seiki and Gibbs will incorporate the new capabilities into their APT implementation.

GibbsCAM Generates CNC Programs for Nakamura-Tome MTMs

GibbsCAM’s programming capabilities will be featured in support of programming and post-processing to make parts on Nakamura-Tome multi-tasking machines. The Nakamura MTMs are among the 50 machine tools to be on display, under power, at the event.
